Ed Snell Memorial Run/Walk
Fairplay to Alma 10k at 10,573 ft.
The Ed Snell Memorial Annual Run/Walk began as a friendly wager between two locals who raced from Fairplay to Alma in the winter of 1979. By 1981, the race was named for Edward Louis Snell who was born in Alma in 1904. He was an avid conservationist and naturalist who was active in mining, milling and metallurgy in the South Park area until his death in 1975. Family and friends have kept his giving spirit alive through this memorial fund.
